The Ri Rock Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, thus confirming its status as one of the longest-running festivals in Europe. This year, we pick up where we left off, giving unsigned young musicians a chance to (out)play on the stage of the Palach Youth Cultural Centre. The festival starts on 6 December with a battle of young bands joined by Goblini and Alergija, with the announcement of the winners, who will be presented with the Ri Rock Statue 2019 award, and concert performances by well-known acts, such as Krešo & Kisele Kiše, The Black Room, The Siids, My Buddy Moose and Krankšvester scheduled for next day. The closing nights of the festival at Pogon Kulture, on 13 and 14 December, will see special appearances by famous names from the Croatian scene and performances by this year's winners in the three major categories of the RI Rock Statue award. There will also be an official afterparty and concert performances by a few other underground bands for fans of hard and heavy music in the late hours of Saturday at the Palach Youth Cultural Centre.
