For the second year running, from 5 to 9 September, Rijeka will host the History Film Festival, the only international festival in the world that centres around history documentaries.
The goal of the festival is to showcase top-notch history documentaries and to provide a platform for directors and producers from all over the world to exchange ideas and experiences. The documentaries will be evaluated by a panel of international judges comprising filmmakers, filmologists, critics and historians. There will be 40 documentaries screened at this year's History Film Festival, with awards being presented in 10 categories, including: Grand Prix for Best Documentary, Best Independent Documentary and Best TV Documentary, as well as professional awards for Best Director, Screenwriter, Cinematographer, Composer, Editor, Producer and the People's Choice Award.
All the documentaries will be screened at the Croatian House of Culture in Sušak and at the Kortil Gallery, while the masterclasses will take place in the morning hours at the Trsat branch of the City Library and at the Boatel Marina.
