Rhythms, chants, flavours and scents of various global cultures will transform Rijeka into the centre of global culture on the first weekend of September.
The third annual Porto Etno World Music and Gastronomy Festival will take place from 6 to 8 September at three different locations - 128. brigade HV Square, Riječka Rezolucija Square and the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc. More than 100 performers, including the Boban Marković Orchestra, BaBa ZuLa and Acid Arab, along with 20 worldwide cuisines best exemplify the multicultural collage of Rijeka. Minority associations from Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County as well as Rijeka natives from countries across the globe, such as Madagascar, Italy, the Philippines, the Czech Republic, India and many other will prepare delicious bites. The festival has prepared an eventful side programme, ranging from folk dance demonstrations and musical performances by national minorities to kids' workshops. The children's programmes and programmes at the Rijeka market are free for visitors. You will be able to taste the food at very affordable prices, while entrance to the concerts is charged. The festival ticket price in advance is HRK 100.00 and HRK 150.00 at the entrance. The daily ticket price in advance is HRK 70.00 and HRK 100.00 at the entrance. Tickets for the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc are sold separately at HRK 60.00 in advance and HRK 80.00 at the entrance. Students, pensioners and unemployed people get a 20% discount.
